If you plan to work legally in any European country, you will need to make arrangements based on your citizenship. If you are a non-EU national, you will need to get a work permit or a visa in advance. Expect to do a lot of paperwork and conquer a lot of red tape to obtain the necessary permits from the consulate of your own country. You'll also be needing letters from your future employers as proof of your intent. Before you leave, make sure you've also contacted the embassy or consulate of the country that you plan to work in because employment regulations change frequently. If you are a Commonwealth citizen between the ages of 17 and 27, you can get a working holiday visa for Britain which is...

A series of decisions by the current US Administration, in widely differing sectors, are causing increasing concern among the global public-health community. Together, these decisions can perhaps best be thought of as manifestations of American exceptionalism, in which international laws and standards of behavior apply only to other countries. In the international arena the USA has opted out of a series of collective initiatives, many of which have potentially important consequences for health, security, and human rights. These initiatives and treaties include topics such as the banning of land-mines, the International Criminal Court, and the promulgation of anti-ballistic missiles. The decision to...

Researcher, Nancy Adler conducted a monumental study in the mid 1980's to address myths about women and international business. Her study investigated if commonly held myths about women in international business were true including: women are not interested in International business, women were not willing to travel overseas for a variety of reasons namely family responsibilities and women would not be viewed as credible in overseas business due to the local perception of women. Her study results revealed that many of these false perceptions were indeed myths often held by male managers and HR personnel, and that women were interested and willing to conduct business overseas.Today many of these...

Of Racism

Of RacismBy PunkerslutIntroduction and Statement of OpinionThere are few institutions that are more deplorable than Racism. It is this vice-ridden belief, the belief that a man can be reduced to the color of his skin when his worth is measured, it is this bigotry that has turned men into scoundrels, that has turned people into heartless murderers and slavers. Racism does not count intelligence for a man, nor does it count ignorance against a man; it does not state that affection is to be valued, nor that brutality is to be detested. It states, and it only states, that one particular race is to be valued or judged, that one tone of skin is either divine or satanic, that a person is only worth as...

What is the New Age Movement? It is similar to New Age Spirituality, but different enough to warrant its own definition. The New Age Movement is a belief that the human race is all one. It is not about equality nor diversity. It is the idea that your gender, age, religion, race, nor sexual orientation makes you better or worse then anyone else. The New Age Movement is moving away from the US against THEM mentality. It is inclusive, open, detached from labels, and above all else, it's based in love not fear.At our deepest level, there are only two motivators - love and fear. Fear breeds hate, anger, vengeance, greed, violence, selfishness, and alienates us from truly connecting with spirit and...

Throughout the past decade, workplace diversity issues have allowed organizations to adjust their policies in response to the need for workplace equality in all aspects. As a result of the dynamic political, social and economic changes, some companies have willingly become more inclusive, integrating women, people of color, gays/lesbians, and individuals with disabilities into their workforce at all levels of their organizations. However, others have failed to make this paradigm shift. The Federal government has failed to see the benefits of a diverse workforce, which is evident by the lack of diversity of the people it serves. Research by the Center for Creative Leadership (2002), show women in...

RightsWhenever any moral, ethical, political, or even economic question comes up, there is often a question of rights involved. "Does the woman have the 'right' to abort her fetus?" or "Does a man have the 'right' to kiss women he is not involved with?" or "Do corporations have the 'right' to avoid paying livable wages?" Whatever it comes down to, there is always the question of rights. In Capitalism, there is one distinguishing right: the right to private property. In this system, a person can offer their property for sale at ANY price, can offer ANY price for the property they want. It doesn't mean that someone will buy it, or that someone will accept their offer. They simply have this one...

What happens to a person at death in Christian religion? "Either the gate to life with God or to eternal separation from Him." The Christians believe that through the sacrifice that Jesus Christ termed the Son of God, we can be saved. If we accept Jesus Christ as our savior and try to live without sin, then when we pass on we are to live in Heaven with God for all of Eternity as a reward for having been a good child of God. Since we are still always guilty of sin, then we must strive to ask God's Forgiveness and continue to try to achieve a sinless state. For those who do not follow the path of God, then they will forever be condemned to damnation within Hell. It is, however, taught that we can...

These are all real problems many people in the United States have to go through, but the problems that will be focused on and discussed in this article are violence, hatred, and selfishness. Selfishness is a disease that has been increasingly spreading through and afflicting the US and other countries, where less and less people think about others and only concentrate on their own best interests. Since ancient times women have been viewed, in many cultures, as men's inferiors physically, morally, and intellectually. Today, in western cultures, women enjoy more freedom and equality than ever before in history. Despite the gains made by women in recent years, particularly in the U.S., many women worldwide still find that their access to education, employment, healthcare and political influence are limited because of their gender. These discrepancies continue to exist because many societies still maintain centuries-old social and religious laws, customs, and traditions that have created barriers to education, jobs, and healthcare, as well as deprive women of their political and civil rights...

It is a tool, a cylindrical metal appliance, used to change the structure of the hair by applying heat to a lock of hair that has been curled around it. It is natural to think with a modern mind and assume that the heat is generated by electricity. However, the curling iron goes way back before...

Castles remind us of a time that was full of adventure and romance. Castles remind us of a time in history in which there was a lack of government and order. Although there was not mass confusion and anarchy, there was less order. Castles were the basis of feudalism. Castles can be seen as a manifestation of feudal society. Feudalism started with the rise of castles and ended with their end. The castle set the tone as the only homestead that nobility would live in during this time. Castles were influenced by and influenced many medieval cathedrals in Europe. Although castles served many purposes, their primary purpose was military.
