| For years I have been amazed as I've

|
| listened to people here in the United

| | Middle East and particularly with Israel
|
| States
| |
| | and its unceasing dispute with the

| |
| | Palestinians. The UN has been helping
|
| the purpose and tremendous value of the
| |
| | that powder keg from exploding over all
|
| United Nations, even to the
| |
| | of
|
| point of our country not paying dues to
| |
| | us since June of 1948: UN observers and
|
| the organization. Ambassador to the

| the UN has become a troublesome entity
| |

| and

|
| the appointment of an Ambassador a
| |

|

| |

| |
| | zeal and personal politics get in the way
|
| understand what value the United Nations
| |
| | of their
|
| brings to the world, you have to start
| |
| | better judgment. "Let ye who is without
|

| |
| | sin cast the first stone," however: I
|
| from...The year is 1919 and the nations
| |
| | expect
|
| of the world have just suffered the
| |
| | an organization that represents the vast
|
| ravages of the
| |
| | majority of nations on our planet -- the
|
| first truly worldwide war, World War I.
| |
| | only organization that even tries to

| In response, the war-ending Treaty of

|
| "to promote international

| |

| security." Brilliant idea, but the Treaty
| |
| | course,
|
| itself
| |
| | it does. You can see from my writing
|
| was so fundamentally flawed that World
| |
| | here, I'm passionate in my support of the
|
| War II occurred anyway, even with the
| |
| | United

|
| the worst hours of World War II, United

|
| Roosevelt gave a speech to the nation, a
| |
| | remarkable to me that our government
|
| speech called the "Declaration by United
| |
| | would not only attempt to
|
| Nations" during which representatives of
| |
| | appoint a mediocre candidate to the
|
| 26 nations pledged their Governments to

|
| continue fighting together against the
| |

|
| Axis Powers. That speech is commonly
| |

|
| considered the formative event of the
| |
| | position can be more important in terms

| |

|
| bring "permanent peace in our times" but
| |

| |
| | of our nation -- and consider appointing
|
| beginning to offer a venue for argument,
| |
| | Bolten as temporary ambassador to
|
| dispute settlement and discussions about
| |
| | the UN directly? The irony, of course, is
|
| how nations could both be responsible
| |
| | that the very myopia that causes members
|
| members of the global community and stand
| |
| | of the US
|
|
| |
| | government to be blind to the tremendous
|
| up for their own rights and needs as
| |
| | value and import of an organization that
|
| individual nations, as unique cultures
| |
| | truly represents the views of the
|
| and
| |
| | downtrodden, the third world, the poorer
|
| communities of their own too. When I hear
| |
| | nations
|
| people say "but all people ever do in the

| |
| | government that would move to
|
| but I think "of course! That's the
| |
| | circumvent the representative voice of
|
| point, the very essence, the true
| |
| | its own citizens and appoint someone who
|
| value of the UN!" And it is: imagine a
| |
| | is
|
| world without the United Nations. How do
| |
| | not suitable for the job, has never been
|
| countries then argue about border
| |
| | part of the diplomatic corps, is clearly
|
| disputes or settlers meandering onto
| |
| | not a
|
| unclaimed
| |
| | brilliant statesman, and who just
|
| lands or trade disparities, or refugees
| |
| | doesn't really understand the role of the
|
| from warring areas, or ... all the many,
| |
| | United
|
| many
| |
| | Nations and how it, not the United

| topics that are heard on the UN assembly

| floor? You and I both know how these
| |
| | how it
|
| would all be settled: through bloody and
| |
| | frequently steers our volatile world
|
| violent warfare, warfare where innocent
| |
| | away from the brink of World War III.But
|
| third parties, where children, families
| |
| | then again, we can't even pay our
|
| and even passionate young men and women
| |
| | organizational dues and claim that unlike
|
| would be killed, all because their
| |
| |
|
| governments had no venue to yell and have

| peace, settlement and a solution.That the
| |

|
| United Nations has a peacekeeping force

|
| is brilliant, but even without it,

|
| even if the UN were simply a meeting

| |

|
|
| |

|
| and disagree, I would be adamant in my
| |
| | Some branches of government apparently
|

| |
| | think that debt can be paid through
|
| something so critical to the cause of
| |
| | services rendered, while others don't.My

|
| so much more, with its health and welfare
| |
