Review of "The Ten Commandments"
"The Ten Commandments" is an incredible epic tale based on the book of Exodus of the Old Testament. The acting is superb, as are the special effects for the time the movie was made (1956). Though this is a very long movie, it's quite mesmerizing, keeping you glued to the screen to the end. I'm not at all religious, but I still love this movie, both for its entertainment value and for its message of the value of freedom as well as the price necessary to maintain it. Prior to the American Civil war the Republican Party as led by Abraham Lincoln was greatly in favor of Emancipation of the slaves. Their collective conscience was adamant that all men should be free.
